Woman

The reptile Eve

was unbecoming

wanted to be something other than

the lizard pushing up to appear

taller imposing

rearing and erecting

its frill

other than the cobra spreading

its hood

to threaten.

The reptile Eve

was unbecoming

began to want to touch

and not repel

hummed a song into existence

sang a perfect g that made everyone

want to

move in a little closer to her,

listen.
